Field capture · Report drafting · Due dates · Central Florida

We build software that turns field findings into finished inspection reports.

Engenious is a Florida software engineering firm. We ride along on real inspections and map how a finding becomes a report in your customer's hands. Then we build and prove one automation at a time, each against a number you agree to in advance.

We are also running a benchmark study of report turnaround in crane inspection. Fifteen minutes of your time, and you get the results.

01  Why crane inspection

Crane inspection stood out.

We compared a range of regulated industries before deciding where to build. Crane inspection stood out for four reasons.

The demand does not go away.

OSHA requires recurring crane inspections, with records, under 29 CFR 1910.179 in general industry and 1926.1412 in construction. Your customers need you every year.

The report is the product.

The customer pays for a signed record of what was inspected, what was found and what must be fixed.

The work suits software.

Photos, notes and measurements are captured on site and become a report later. Field capture and report drafting are things software now does well.

It is on our doorstep.

Central Florida has long-established crane inspection and training firms, a few hours' drive from us.

02  Why Engenious

We do not start from zero.

Three things put us in a position to build for crane inspection firms that a generalist vendor cannot match.

A library of proven automation modules.

We have spent years building products for hundreds of customers across multiple industries, and we kept what worked. The result is a large library of tested modules, some AI and many not: field data capture, photo and voice-note processing, document generation, scheduling and reminders, and system integrations. Your pilot is assembled from parts already proven in production, not written from scratch.

A world-class team of builders.

We have spent our whole working lives building products and solutions. It is all we do, and clients rate our work 4.8 out of 5 on Clutch.

We are here in Florida.

We are not a remote vendor. Discovery, rollout and support happen in person, and if something needs attention we can be with you the next business day.

What we are not is crane inspectors, and we do not pretend to be.

That is why we are running the benchmark below, why every engagement starts with a week alongside yours, and why your inspectors approve every step.

03 · The Crane Inspection Reporting Benchmark

Going deep means measuring before building.

So we are running a benchmark study, and we are inviting 40 owners and operations managers at crane and lifting-equipment inspection firms to take part.

What we measure

How long it takes from the end of an inspection to the report in the customer's hands, and how many inspector hours a week go to write-up. We could not find a published number for either.

What it takes

Eight questions and fifteen minutes: online, by phone, or in person at your office.

What you get

The aggregated results before we publish them, so you can compare your firm with your peers.

What we promise

No firm names, no customer names and no attributed quotes. Afterwards you hear from us twice: once with the results, and once to ask whether you would like to talk further. If you say no, that is the end of it.

Take the 15-minute benchmark survey

The benchmark is the lightest way to start a conversation with us. Below is how an engagement runs if you want to go further.

04  How we work

Eight steps. Stop after any one.

1

A short call and an NDA.

Thirty minutes to confirm there is a fit. We sign your NDA before we see a single customer report. If you took the benchmark survey, we start from your answers.

2

A week alongside your inspectors.

We ride along on real jobs, whatever your week holds: overhead cranes in a plant, mobile cranes on a site. We follow your site safety rules and bring our own PPE. Then we sit with your office through report writing, review, delivery and scheduling.

3

Your process map, handed over.

Within two weeks you receive a written map of the workflow as it really runs, from job booking to report delivered and next due date set. It shows each step, who does it, which form or tool it uses, and where the time goes. It is yours to keep, whatever happens next.

4

A ranked list of opportunities.

Each one comes with the expected effect, the effort and the risk. Some need AI, such as drafting the report from photos and voice notes. Some need plain automation, such as tracking due dates across a customer's fleet. Some need no software at all, and we will say so.

5

A pilot proposal with one number.

One workflow. One KPI you choose, for example hours from the end of an inspection to the report delivered, or write-up hours per inspector per week. A baseline taken from your last 30 days of jobs. Fixed scope, fixed timeline, fixed price.

6

Build and safe rollout.

Pilots are scoped to be built in six to eight weeks, with a demo every two weeks. The pilot starts with one or two inspectors on real jobs, in your existing report format, and is built to work on sites with no signal. Your office keeps its current process running until you are satisfied.

7

Shared monitoring and support.

You and we watch the same KPI on the same dashboard. Your inspectors have a direct line to the engineers who built it, and we come to you for anything urgent.

8

A joint decision.

When the pilot ends, we compare the result with the baseline together. If the number moved, we agree what to roll out next. If it did not, you stop, and you keep the process map and the findings.

05  What stays in your hands

The judgment.

The inspector makes every call and signs every report. The software drafts. It never passes or fails a piece of equipment.

Your format and criteria.

Reports keep your layout, your wording and your standards.

Your customers.

Their data stays in your environment, or in a US-hosted environment you approve in writing before the pilot starts. We do not inspect, train or certify, and we will not compete with you.

The exit.

You can stop after any step.

Start with fifteen minutes, or start with a week.

Either way, you decide what happens next.
