We build software that takes data handling off your chemists and reviewers.

Engenious is a Florida software engineering firm. We map how samples and data actually move through your lab. Then we build and prove one automation at a time, each against a number you agree to in advance.

Data handling?

We are also running a benchmark study of data-handling time in environmental labs. Fifteen minutes of your time, and you get the results.

§1 Why environmental labs

Environmental testing labs stood out.

We compared a range of regulated industries before deciding where to build. Environmental testing labs stood out for four reasons.

IDREASON
R-01

The product is the data package.

A result only counts once it reaches the client or regulator as a defensible report in the required format.

R-02

The formats are written down.

Programmes publish what they expect. Florida DEP, for example, checks electronic data deliverables with its ADaPT tool. Work specified that precisely can be automated and tested.

R-03

The checks follow rules.

Holding times, blanks, duplicates and surrogate recoveries each have defined limits. Software can pre-check every row, so reviewers spend their time on the exceptions.

R-04

It is on our doorstep.

We are in Florida, and so are the labs we want to work with first.

§2 Why Engenious

We do not start from zero.

Three things put us in a position to build for environmental labs that a generalist vendor cannot match.

A library of proven automation modules.

We have spent years building products for hundreds of customers across multiple industries, and we kept what worked. The result is a large library of tested modules, some AI and many not: document capture and extraction, rule-based data validation, file-format conversion, system integrations and reporting. Your pilot is assembled from parts already proven in production, not written from scratch.

A world-class team of builders.

We have spent our whole working lives building products and solutions. It is all we do, and clients rate our work 4.8 out of 5 on Clutch.

4.8/ 5 on Clutch

We are here in Florida.

We are not a remote vendor. Discovery, rollout and support happen in person, and if something needs attention we can be in your lab the next business day.

What we are not is chemists, and we do not pretend to be.

That is why we are running the benchmark below, why every engagement starts with a week in your lab, and why your QA officer approves every step.

§3 The Environmental Lab Data Workflow Benchmark

Going deep into an industry means measuring before building.

So we are running a benchmark study, and we are inviting 40 QA managers and lab directors at environmental testing labs to take part.

WHAT WE MEASURE

What share of analyst and reviewer time goes to data handling instead of analysis: login, QC review, report and EDD production. We could not find a published number.

WHAT IT TAKES

Eight questions and fifteen minutes: online, by phone, or in person at your lab.

WHAT YOU GET

The aggregated results before we publish them, so you can compare your lab with your peers.

WHAT WE PROMISE

No lab names, no accreditation numbers and no attributed quotes. Afterwards you hear from us twice: once with the results, and once to ask whether you would like to talk further. If you say no, that is the end of it.

Take the 15-minute benchmark survey

The benchmark is the lightest way to start a conversation with us. Below is how an engagement runs if you want to go further.

§4 How we work

From first call to joint decision.

01

A short call and an NDA.

Thirty minutes to confirm there is a fit. We sign your NDA before we see any client data. If you took the benchmark survey, we start from your answers.

02

A week in your lab.

We follow real samples from login through prep, analysis and data review to the final report and EDD. We sit with sample custodians, analysts, data reviewers, project managers and your QA officer. We watch and ask. We do not touch your LIMS or your instruments.

03

Your process map, handed over.

Within two weeks you receive a written map of the workflow as it really runs: each step, who does it, which system or form it uses, and where the time goes. It is yours to keep, whatever happens next.

04

A ranked list of opportunities.

Each one comes with the expected effect, the effort and the risk. Some need AI, such as reading chain-of-custody forms at login. Some need plain rules, such as pre-checking QC results before review. Some need no software at all, and we will say so.

05

A pilot proposal with one number.

One workflow. One KPI you choose, for example reviewer hours per data package, EDD re-issue rate, or login time per sample. A baseline measured before we build. Fixed scope, fixed timeline, fixed price.

06

Build, validate and roll out safely.

Pilots are scoped to be built in six to eight weeks, with a demo every two weeks. Before anything goes live we test it against your historical data and give you the validation record, as ISO/IEC 17025 clause 7.11 expects. The pilot then runs in parallel with your current review until your QA officer says it is ready.

07

Shared monitoring and support.

You and we watch the same KPI on the same dashboard. You have a direct line to the engineers who built it, and we come on site for anything urgent.

08

A joint decision.

When the pilot ends, we compare the result with the baseline together. If the number moved, we agree what to roll out next. If it did not, you stop, and you keep the process map and the findings.

§5 What stays in your hands

The sign-off.

Your analysts and reviewers still approve every result. The software flags. People decide.

Your quality system.

Your quality manual and SOPs stay yours. Any change goes through your QA officer and document control.

Your data.

It stays in your environment, or in a US-hosted environment you approve in writing before the pilot starts.

The exit.

You can stop after any step.

Start with fifteen minutes, or start with a week.

Either way, you decide what happens next.
